Morris Iemma

The Hon Morris Iemma is Chairman of Asclepius Health™ and has served as a Member of Parliament in the NSW Legislative Assembly for 17 years 3 months from May 1991 until September 2008. He held a number of Ministerial portfolios including Premier, Treasurer, Minister for Health, Minister for Sport and Recreation, Minister for Public Works and Services, Minister for State Development and Minister Assisting the Premier on Citizenship. 

Mr Iemma is also a board member of TAFE NSW and is Chairman of Riverwood Community Centre, Miracle Babies Foundation and NSW Cancer Institute.

He has also served on the Boards of Beyond Blue, the SCG Trust and as Chair of the South East Sydney Health District.

He has a BEc degree from the University of Sydney and an LLB from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Norm Johnston
Managing Director - Organisational Development

Mr Johnston is joint Managing Director of Asclepius Health™ as well as head of Levinson & Co Asia Pacific, part of “Levinson Institute Global” with Head Quarters in Boston USA. The Levinson Institute with over 45,000 Alumni through its Leadership Program is a highly reputed leadership and organisational development Group with a Global consultancy network and world class software in succession planning and business modelling.

With an MBA specialising in change management, he is a strong advocate for organisational reform and has been involved in three major organisational restructures both in Australia and overseas, heading both incremental and transformative change agendas. He now encourages “sustainability principles” from the viewpoint of effective and efficient management systems within an organisation.

Together with Dr Martin Cohen, they have developed the Asclepius Health™ Integrated Governance Program – a transitional pipeline for change which aligns both Clinician and Operational management into the one performance management centre and produces highly effective outcomes, proven through a successful reform implementation, to minimise harm to the organisation and its people.

Martin Cohen
Managing Director - Clinical Practice

Conjoint Associate Professor Martin Cohen completed his training in medicine at The University of Sydney in 1996 and was awarded Fellowship of the College of Psychiatrists in 2002, being awarded the dissertation prize by the College. He subsequently led clinical and research teams. Martin completed his PhD in 2015 and has been Lead Investigator on nationally significant research. He has extensive experience as a teacher, supervisor, trainer and public speaker. Until 2016 he was Executive Director of Hunter New England Mental Health Service, a district employing 16,000 staff with an annual budget of approximately $2 billion.

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, Martin has acted as CEO, and has extensive experience working with managing boards and government agencies. He was directly responsible for 1600 staff and held a significant financial, leadership and reform portfolio. He was employed in this role to provide strong leadership, develop and manage service redesign, including workforce development, budget restoration and reputation development. Other appointments include Director on the Board of Hunter New England Health and the Hunter Medical Research Institute.

In 2016, Martin formed a partnership with Norm Johnston, the CEO for Levinson Institute -Asia Pacific (an adjunct of Harvard University) to form Asclepius HealthTM. This company represents the integration of extensive health systems operations and clinical governance knowledge and business capability.  

Martin’s key strengths include his interpersonal skills in influencing change and innovation, strategy and delivering on design and implementation, development of operational and clinical accountability frameworks, clinical governance and processes management and  he is a highly sought after speaker.

Sally Wernham
Executive Manager - Client Engagement

Sally Wernham is a management professional with over 25 years’ experience in the in general management, business development, and client relationship management. With exceptional skills in leadership, strategic business transformation, change management, contract negotiation and staff development, she demonstrates a consultative client-focused approach to organisational challenges.

Sally has a successful track record in complex sales projects in the private, government and not-for-profit sectors across multiple industry sectors including Health, finance, IT, education and resources. Her experience has assisted clients to improve staff productivity, increase financial return, and enhance customer and employee satisfaction towards business excellence.

Sally takes a collaborative view of business. With considerable experience in partnership management, she has a “sum of the parts” mentality, in believing that we can achieve a greater good by working together. She is also passionate about the power of education, equity of access to learning opportunities, and how learning and development is a uniquely individual and aspirational experience. Sally is a registered business mentor for a number of formal education programs, both globally and locally.
